What is this?
Anthony Stringer, PhD, CPCRT, ABPP/ABCN, Professor, Emory University, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Neuropsychology and Behavioral Health.
Tuesday, March 7, 2023, 7 to 9 p.m
Description: The African Neuropsychological Battery (ANB) was developed to be a culturally and linguistically appropriate battery of tests for diagnosing cognitive disorders resulting from neurological diseases in sub-Saharan African communities, both living on the continent and immigrating to the U.S. The diversity of these populations poses a normative and interpretative challenge which is slowly being addressed as research using the test battery expands. This lecture will describe the tests comprising the ANB and cover available norms, and research on reliability and validity. A case example will be used to introduce guidelines for how the battery may be employed with underserved African immigrant populations living in the U.S.
